    Hey,
there're lots of ways to play the game if it's not working.
Go to the official B&W website to find out.
Apparently there are some bugs, but don't give up!

If you're nostalgic you can just get an emulator and play old NES and SNES games.

    Best of all its free.

    Children, children...

Don't make me bust a move on you in Quake III Arena. I don't want your mothers to come complaining to me.

I noticed the other night that there were only about 150 Quake 3 servers in Gamespy compared to over a thousand for Half-Life/CS.

Quake used to own online gaming.

you are right creole, but halflife has been the no.1 online game for a while now. however, i still get over 1000 listed quake servers when i boot up q3 (dont think that includes TA or Rocket arena etc.)...plenty to choose from for me anyway...

    oh...and is that a challenge?

B/W b&w is sooper cool, though my creature doesnt seem to want to grow yet...

it is indeed a challenge, but don't say you haven't been warned!

But first I would have to fix up my install. I downloaded the most recent patch, installed it and now I get a white screen everytime I launch Quake. I can still hear the mouse moving over the navigation, I just can't see anything.

What version do you use Kyuss?

I can't ever find any servers that anyone is actually at to play Q3 on multiplayer.. I've had it for months now but can't ever get the server configurations and settings right either... There are a lot of errors with the program. I don't know if it's my system or the game itself.

I played Quake 1 way back in the day... I loved it... And before my comp crashed, I was fragging more than the guys there.. haha

lol, my luck, I'd finally get the servers to connect right then it would have been so long since I played mutliplayer, all I would do is run around saying "hey frag me, i suck at this game!" lol.... It's just not the same playing against the computer. Multiplayer is SO much better.

Quake 3 was basically just a graphics upgrade with the same old deathmatch gameplay. CTF is also incredibly similar to deathmatch. Compare that to Tribes 2 where actual teamwork takes place, and there's time to talk strategy and tactics with your teammates before you're fragged. q3 is just plain generic FPS imo.

was a while since i did it, think its 1.17g

you need to use this one to see many of the servers, this could be other peoples problem like heth2bthere's.

Anarchos, true, but that is what quake is about...i happen to like on occasion some mindless fragging , my little bro is a tribes 2 fan...

Half-life is the most kick-a55 game I ever played.

Opposing Force wasn't to bad either (if a little short).

Like I said, I just installed 1.27g or h (can't remember) but it screwed up my install something fierce. I just need to take the time to reinstall and get the patches back up to speed.

For the longest time I left my patch at 1.17 as I didn;t like the newer (1.27) version, but now 1.17 servers are getting almost impossible to find.

one is backfire, three is gunplay.
