    Where can i learn php/mysql

    Hello i know the basics of php and i want to learn php/mysql does anyone know a site with simple steps in learning php/mysql and have some examples like showing u how to build a simple poll script or something?

    This is what I used to learn PHP myself, and it's great. Kevin Yank gives plenty of examples to help illustrate each concept so you have the maximum chance to really understand what you're doing.

    One source for very basic information is w3schools. They have a lot of tutorials on a variety of web development tools, not just PHP.

    Some Uni s run short courses for php, actionscripot etc. Check out the local ones. In Sydney both UNSW and Sydney Uni nave them.

    djdykes - that is a bloody brilliant page.

    However - listening to his voice has drained me of all energy - I need a sleep now!!

    I didn't really get OOP before them videos - now I do (well sorta - better than before!).

    As already pointed out, Kevin Yank's book is a great starting point to start learning PHP/MySQL. I don't have the book, but I do have the article in which the book was based on, so I know for sure that it is a great source.

    I think the best book I have ever used was PHP and MySQL Bible. Also, if you want to learn about a specific section of PHP is go to http://www.php.net and search for the topic you want to learn about in the search.
