Unicode and special font in MySQL

    Hi,

I have to do some searches on a MySQL DB which has Unicode and also Vietnamese font. So I'm wondering if there are any limitation or how would I go about this.

    Regards,

Mysql knows chinese at least. A friend of mine has chinese characters in a database, and somehow mysql can deal with them.

So it can cope with 'different' languages, at least I think so.

To insert forgein characters into MySQL, open phpMyAdmin or make a form that inserts data to MySQl, and in your browser, select the encoding that the language uses, so if you're inserting Vietnamese text, set your browser's encoding to Vietnamese, and put the text to the text box and submit.

Normal users that doesn't have that encoding will just see jubblish symbols, people with that encoding installed will see the proper text. I find that unicode takes up a lot more space than plain characters.

So, just remember to set your browser to the special encoding before submiting the text.

    Hi

Just wanna tell you that I actually have a site which I had Chinese Character stored in MySQL database.

So, I guess it will be ok for Vietamese also... however I don't see anyway that confirming MySQL is supporting unicode... which is quite strange for me...

Anyway, it work with Chinese Character.
