I'd say about eight minutes. Just had to scan the photo and minimize it's size.

Mine took about 45 minutes. I could do it in less but I was experimenting.

overgrow...PLEASE tell me that picture really is YOU because that kicks a$$. I've been wanting to ask you ever since I saw that pic.

This particluar avatar - about 5-10 minutes. Choosing this out of the zillion I created.......still haven't decided - about 4 weeks

Mine took me as long as it took for me to steal the image from the
DMOZ Category I'm editor of, make the background transparent, and resize it.

Mine took five or ten minutes, if you count the little minute on View Source here to steal the two correct shades of blue

Well there were previous versions of it, that took a bit longer.

No it isn't. The hairstyle is a bit different, but the beard style is the same.

My avatar took 5 minutes (+ the time it took to get the image).
I got the earth from the Yahoo! Pictures site and deleted the background (outer-space) using Photoshop.
It was orginally a painting from someone from somewhere.
I plan to get a better avatar, but I don't know when.

P.S. - Hey, Steelsun! I'm also from Space City!
