    Smile Include Asp FIles

    Hello,

    I need to include an asp file from another server.

    Code:
    <!--#include file="SicurezzaDip.asp"-->
    I think that is the normal way to do it. I've also used the code shown below, but it doesn't seem to work..Is it possible to Include asp files from another server ? How can i do it ??

    Code:
    <!--#include file="http://81.74.60.30/Asp/SicurezzaDip.asp"-->
    Thank you.

    If you're trying to retrieve data from another server, you could always use the XML parser to call the other server. Depends what you're getting from the other server.

    the other server has all asp pages with login information like it checks if the username and password is correct and then link to different asp pages.

    As bigsi said, you can do something like:

    Collect login data from a form on your site
    Send login data to another server using XMLHTTP
    Parse the page that the other server writes to see if the login was successful
    Display a message to the user

    If that's the case, you could always post the username and password to the other server using the XML object and check the response for validation.

    You can't include a file that begins with http://.

    If you're including a file that is on your local network, this will work (set up a share...)
    Code:
    #include file="\\sharename\myinclude.asp"

    Note: Only possible if this server is on your local network. You must have console access to the server that has the file you are tryin to include.
