2 pages with same CSS 1 fails

    Hello,

I have 2 pages that use very similar CSS (I copied and pasted one to the other and made only a few small changes). But one has the left column lined up properly and the other puts the left column below the centrecontent (main part of page).

Both CSS has the left column as relative and they all seem to be placed in the same spots in the actual HTML.

    Here are the links:

    This one works: www.mondaymorningreport.org/index.html

    This one doesn't: www.maddmedia.org/index-test.html

    I'm really confused here.

    Thanks,

    Matt

Are you having problems in MSIEWin?

Not sure - but think 'yes' - if double margin bug applies to right floats as well as left - in which case it'll double that 30px margin and drop the float because it's trying to fit 810 into 800.

I'm kind of confused by your problem - the MADD one DOESNT work? Are you trying to get the nav that is at the top of the major content area to be at the bottom? *confused*
    Could you clarify?

Vflytrap - I checked the code in Firefox and it looks fine. So the problem was in IE. If you were looking at it in another browser you might not have noticed the problem. The buttons on the left column appeared below the text in the right column.

I changed the it from margin-right to padding-right and it worked.

    Thanks Gulliver!

    That was frying my brain.

Good. It's often an easy fix. As is "display inline". More at http://www.positioniseverything.net/...ed-margin.html

Now you have padding, don't forget the box model issue. You'll need to hack the width or lose the padding and use "display inline".
