    Hello,

Does anyone knows how to backup a database on a remote server without telnet access to local PC?
    Thanks.

    Best Regards,

You could make a PHP script to do it, or find one that already exists.

    Hi Anarchos,
What should I include in the php script to backup the database to my Pc? Is it mysqldump? If it is, I think the mysqldump will only save the file in the MySQL server, isn't it? Or I can have it to save the file into my local PC?
    Thanks.

I don't think that you could access mysqldump through PHP. What I was thinking was that you would make a script that would list all tables in a particular database, describe each table, then extract all of the data and create your own mysqldump type of application.

Basically it's just a bunch of parsing of mysql queries, but there are probably already scripts out there that do this. Checking http://www.hotscripts.com is always a good idea.
