    Fixinh Top Nav

    Hi all,

    I have created a 3col layout with a top navigation. I want to center the top navigation links. How can I do this?

    http://www.dublincil.org/3col/site.htm

    Thanks.

    Kevin.

    I was going to try the centering for you but when I downloaded your page and opened up your CSS file I noticed this:

    Code:
    #topnav {
    	width: 100%;
    	margin: 0;
    	padding: 0;
    	background: #F2F5FD;
    	border-bottom: 1px solid #333;
    	border-top: 1px solid #333;
    #topnav ul {
    	list-style: none;
    }
    #topnav li {
    	float: left;
    	margin-left: 5px;
    	padding: 3px;
    	font-weight: bold;
    }
    notice the little ooppss before #topnav.ul ??? (you forgot the closing curley brace for #topnav)

    Im afraid to tell you what happened after I fixed it ... Ill let you see!

    OK I played some but with no success ... then (idiot that I am) noticed you have no doctype in there ........ major quirks mode problem there..... SOOOO, I threw in a standards mode doctype and guess what? It blew up in IE like it had in FF ........

    I gotta tell you, I think you need to get a doctype on that thing that throws it into standards mode, then fix what it need and then centering that text SHOULD be a snap.... Ill be the first to admit Im NOT very good fixing things in quirksmode ..... really gives me a headache.

    Thanks for that!!

    Now how do I make the top navigation fluid?? i.e. I want to make the space between the links to expand/contract depending on screen size.

    Cheers.

    Hey DC Dalton. You around? Care to help me with making top nav fluid? Thanks.

    Also any quick idea on what color scheme to use? Much appreciated.

    Kevin.
