Hi, I know nothing about this but I'm researching info for a friend who's in Iraq so he doesn't have the same amount of time to dedicate to finding the info as I do. Anyway, we need to convert an access database into a standalone application. Is this possible? Is it complicated?
Thanks!
Edit: I guess I should have asked how to make it into an executable.
I guess the answer depends on what you mean by "standalone application".
You can create an .MDE file from the Access database that can be run just like an ordinary application (double click and away you go). I believe you do need Access installed on the client PC, however.
Short of that, I don't know of any way to make a "standalone" database app. Any EXE you create is going to need at least one other file for the database (Access, MSDE, DBF, TXT File, etc.)
