file handling, ftp vs filesystem functions

    hi all

i am working on a class for handling files for my web site
but i wanted to know, for file uploads, moving, etc.
would it be better to use the ftp functions or the filesystem functions

i've only used the filesystem functions in the past
but now i want to see if there is a better way

    thanks
    dave

I would stick with filesystems because it is local. FTP functions would be nice to use if you're downloading and uploading files to a remote server.

Indeed, using FTP will involve extra overhead
    Speed & scalability in mind...
