Before the end of this year, I would like to be able to set up a merchant program on CJ for my free e-mail service. At $.10 per lead, how much could I expect to have to pay per month to the affiliates?
you want to pay $0.10 per lead. Okay, doesn't CJ take 25 or 30% on top of that?
Plus they have a minimum payout of $250 per month that you must pay.
So to get your money's worth you'd have to generate $250/$0.13 = 1923 leads per month.
Think your service can create that many leads in a month through CJ? If not then you might want to either increase the lead price and you'll get more affiliates and more leads too. Maybe at $0.20 cents per lead you'd be able to get the 1000 leads per month just to make the CJ minimum. BTW if you don't make their minimum they charge you however much else it takes to get their $250. So if you payout a total of $100 then you get an extra $150 bill that just goes to CJ and you get no leads from it. Sounds like a great business model eh? (sarcasm)
