Problem with Alcohol 120% installation & weirdness. WTF ?

I was installing the trial of Alcohol 120% on an XP SP2 full updated box. Just at the end of the installation, the pc blue-screened and gave me an error something to do with SCSI (sorry I can't remember the specifics). It told me to reboot, all the usual.

Anyway, on reboot, Alcohol 120% won't work properly - it says that it is missing drivers. It will open and seem to be working, but no dice. So I tried to uninstall (from the Alcohol 120 shortcut menu) and it says that this option is only to be used for "installed products" and then exits. Alcohol isn't mentioned in my "Add / Remove Programs" list at all.

So I tried to reinstall Alcohol (so I could uninstall it), but when it's about 3/4 the way through it says that there are driver conflicts and I should rename the conflicting drivers and try again.

Basically I cannot remove or complete the installation of this prog.

    Any ideas?

To make matters worse, in "Control Panel", my "Administrative Tools" appears to be pointing at some documents folder on one of my drives, instead of giving me my Admin Tools - WFT ??

Any idea why it would have knackered my Admin Tools though? I mean the half-installed, half-uninstalled kack I can put up with - I'll just delete the Alcohol files I can find and run RegCleaner to get rid of (most of) the rest. I doesn't bother me too much.

But the AdminTools - that smacks of a serious error. Changing System shortcuts??

    Anyone ?

It goes to a documents folder called "Work Files" on my E:\ drive - a logical partition of my main C:\ drive.
