    Hi folks,

I'm in the process of learning PHP & MySQL and plan on building my own "Content Management System".

As I've never built a CMS before i'm unsure of what features I should have in it.

Can those that have built or used one before please post all the features you think should be included please?

Please don't say "download a CMS from hotscripts.com and have a look at what features are in them" because I have tried downloading most of the ones with good ratings and none of them have what I would like in a CMS.

I look forward to your replies.

You want ideas, eh? Well, I'm doing the same thing, and I found out about Aroze (http://www.aroze.com) and it rocks. It's not out yet. In fact, it'll only be out in a couple of months, but the features seem really cool. You can either wait and buy it or just get ideas from the Product Specifications file: http://www.aroze.com/spec_b.pdf

    Regards,

    Pedro

Yeah, he probably is. I remember his name from somewhere. Well, I reckon he's going to make a lot of money out of his product... I mean, 6 pages or so of features is a LOT! That's only for now, later he probably will have a couple more. Anyway, I think you should start off quite simple (just articles, categories to an unlimited depth and that) making sure that it is expandable. Then you add the extra features. Only once you you have tested what you have already done should you develop more. I have already done a couple of scripts this way and it worked perfectly.
