Setting up my PC for debugging PHP code

    Hello,

I am interested in setting my computer up as a place to debug scripts that I write. (I currently have to FTP them to a server for testing). Anyway, Iím not exactly sure where to start, or even how to do this. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks.

You can test on your PC if you install a server and php. You can download Apache from Apache.org (the server) and install that. Then download PHP php.net and install that (this is not so easy- you need to edit a couple of files to install this with apache). Then wehn you go to http://localhost from a browser it will send you your documents from the folder you define parsed as php.

    Ok,

I tried to get Apache installed, and well I dont think I got it to work. I got a "The page cannot be displayed" message when I tried going to http://localhost/

I entered localhost for Network Domain and for Server Name. I entered my email for admin email. and selected "only for the Current User, on Port 8080, when started Manually".

Did I do anything wrong? Is there more to it?
