Can't Create Object (WinHTTP on WinSrv2003)

    Anybody ever run into this:
    Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'

    Server.CreateObject Failed
My machine is Windows Server 2003 Web Edition and it has the dll (winhttp.dll) and it's registered. No ASP or desktop VBScript works..

    Any ideas?

I stripped it down to this..

    Desktop: test.vbs
    Code:
    Dim winhttp
    Set WinHttp = CreateObject("WinHttp.WinHttpRequest")
    set winHttp = Nothing
(I tried it with the ".5" and without)
Similarly, the ASP version fails, too. (Server.Createobject..)

I'm positive the DLL is registered because I re-registered it using regsvr32. I did not personally install the OS, so I can't really vouch for anything.. I am the administrator, though.

Does whatever process the site is running as have appropriate permissions to run the DLL?

Well, I ran the vbscript as administrator via remote desktop, which should work, but technically, I did not check this..

I'll post back after I play around with this..

    thanks :-)
