Not that I'll say 'they did', but it wouldn't surprise me. Then again, the soccer player who has never doped himself can cast the first stone... Like in all sports where money has such an important role.

True, true. Soccer is not big for adults and for spectators. It is generally for little kids to play. Real athletes play basketball and football. What is it with you Europeans and soccer?

Same situation here in Europe, just the other way: only weirdos would be seen playing baseball and american football.

    >>>What is it with you Europeans and soccer?

You mean, what is it with every country in the world apart from America, and soccer?

I don't think he is guilty. At least, I hope not because I want Man Utd to buy him.

It's hard to believe that two titans of the game would dope themselves up, but who knows?

a professional should know what he takes...nandrolon is known to be illegal...if he took it, he's guilty..simple as that. I think it is ridiculous to keep some drugs on the 'doping list' (e.g. I'm pretty sure nobody will perform better on weed), but as long as they ARE on that list..a professional athlete should stay far away from these products...that's my opinion.

The trouble with that idea (that they should know what they are taking) is that in Holland, nandrolone is routinely injected in cattle so if you eat a big steak you could well show up positive for the test, through no fault of your own. So if the Holland team ate steak when they got together, that MAY have been something to do with it.
So there's a possibility that they are innocent, IMO.

Is this really a big deal "across the pond"? I Live in Dallas Texas and all of are athletes are routinely cuaght with cocaine etc... Athletes are generally people who are physically not mentally adept. Add into that the huge salaries of pro athletes and bam, you have a not so bright jock with no budget...What do you expect.

It's taken a lot more seriously over here I think. And these particular players are known all over the world, because billions (yes, billions) of people have seen them play in the world cup, etc, so the impact is greater.

Yep - we do have a version of baseball in england, but its called 'rounders' and played by schoolgirls

Hey I live in Australia now and have to put up with aussie rules - which is more interesting than American Football but still a long drop from soccer.

The only other ball game which comes close is Gaelic Football , or Hurling if you like watching grown men clattering each other with big wooden sticks!

    Heya,

okay, a lot of you obviously don't know what you are talking about. Now don't get me wrong, I respect and enjoy your replies, but this if he took it, then he's guilty thing is just too blunt here.

Nandralon is found in everyone's blood.
The rule of the soccer league is that you can't have more than 2.0 nanogram of it in your blood.

This was decided after ONE test on 30 (!) NON-sports playing persons. They all stayed below 2.0.

Now a lot of specialists are saying that the level should be raied to 10.0 and in bycicling, the limit is 5.0.

So that gives you something to think about. These two players are players that are highly respected. (For you USA people: the equivalent = what would you think if michael jordan & scottie pippen got found using dope )

UPDATE: the second test also comfirmed that Davids had a higher level than 2.0.
    His level? 2.35

.. I seriously believe he didn't take it

    Greetz.

Tyhe is right there but I'd say the main reason you got it before the rest of us is because your dutch and the TV stations are probaly giving out every fact & detail they can get there hands on.

I saw somewhere that male pigs can also increase your nandralon.

The only other ball game which comes close is Gaelic Football , or Hurling if you like watching grown men clattering each other with big wooden sticks!
Your damn right there firepages!!! I love hurling I play midfield for my local club I once had trials with the Dublin under 16's but it didnt go to well . Since your in Perth and know about Irish sports I'm just wondering if you know the irish club near Subiasco Oval

Davids has just been suspended indefinitely by the Italian football asociation for the failed nandrolone test. This will almost certainly be upheld by FIFA and result in an indefinite worldwide ban. I honestly can't believe it.

Hurling here in the states means puking. It's kinda strange to hear folks say they "Enjoy Hurling". Cultural thing I suppose.

Never did understand why the "running around like a girl dressd as robocop" game got the name "football" in the states? It's more "clutch ball" or, "see if you can take three steps before we all have to stop again ball", or even "and now a word from our sponsors ball".

I like cricket; you can take your time and stroll about, the equivalent to half time is in the early evening and there is food, a particularly good (or bad, depends on your point of view) game can last a week, and it's the highest scoring professional game on earth

    Heya,

guess we left the topic of davids.... (latest news: he has a chance to talk with the soccer league before they suspend him.. which would mean that they must have some doubts as well......) and are now talking about:

    1) the name of soccer, soccer
    2) if its a sport, should be one, if its fun

    If anyone cares, my opinion:

    1) it doesn't matter what you call it.. it's a sport and i guess they call it soccer in the US, cause you all soc at it...
    2) it's a sport that is more popular than any sport in the world.. if you don't like it, don't play it, but just because they dont like it in your street, state or country, don't be denegrating about it. People are different.

Also: nandralon is also a good replacement for Viagra.
A docter said in an interview that some of his patients who took nandralon had constant ********s (can i say that...?) some lasting for 4 (!) days...
Now you tell me if that is something a professional sportsman wants to have.

ANOTHER UPDATE: One of the helpers at Juventus is food specialist Henk Kraayhof. He used to train another athelete, the sprinter Troy Douglas.
Two years ago Troy Douglas was found using nandralon, and got suspended for two years (ending this month). He has spend those last two years fighting the decision, since he never took nandralon.

So: is this guy giving them stuff they don't know about?
Or: are they taking it from this guy and try to keep it quiet?

    Greetz.

    Tyhe on nandralon:
    That's all folks...
