New window links

I'm having problems in revising my code so that new window links open as suggested at:

The links continue to open in the existing window.

EDITED UPDATE - I'd wrecked the js in the cut-and-paste. My error.

As follow-on... is there a way to adapt the script to specify behaviour (size, position, etc) of the new window. I need to replace a crrent script that's called by an onclick and hence won't validate strict.
