How good is Web Position Gold?

    - I am wondering how good is Web Position Gold?
    - Does the 'free trial' (30 days) show any results already?
    - Someone any experience here?

You can use those kind of software to give you some idea about how good your page is optimize but do not use them to submit to search engines, you will either get banned or get no results at all.

WPG is useless. It does next-to-nothing for search engine results. The only thing it can do, is help optimize your pages. But to be honest, this area is simple. And your ranking is totally based on inbound links - period. Ten years ago was a different story, even 5 years ago it was. But today, it's all about inbound links.

You could have 200 MIT computer engineers pool over you site, Wormser, Skolnick, and Poindexter too, ensuring that your pages are the highest quality Google fodder imagineable, but it will do nothing worth a damn in the SERP's unless you have many decent inbound links from other sites. WPG cannot do anything about this.

And yeah, you don't need any links at all for unpopular keywords that nobody wants. You could score number 1 in every engine for 'blue widgets that nobody buys' - but for the keywords that will actually be searched - WPG is useless.

OK, and on the same note... What about Web CEO? Is this the same as WPG?

Don't know about those but I've tested "Internet Business Promoter", and it's the same story: you can pour over whether using 2.5 0r 3.0% keyword density ... but who cares! It's All About Inbound Links....! At least for G*****

I've used web position gold for a year now and the only thing I even know how to use it for is doing the auto-search based on a slew of keyword phrases and then it spews out a report showing the position. That one function has saved me HOURS of time and produces nice visual progress for my clients. It paid for itself the first time I ran a search for one of my clients where it showed their positions along with three other competitors side-by-side.

I own both programs (well, the old version of WPG) and Web Ceo is siginficantly better and certainly better-designed with clearer instructions and functionality.

And, by the way, the Hitlens stats program with Web CEO is great, too.
