How should I backup 100GB+ of data?

I just got done with a video project and have over 100GB of footage, files, etc. Basically just wondering the best way to compress and store it for long term without having to burn like 20 DVD's.

OUCH 100gb! I knew there was a reason I didnt load movies onto my machine

I think the external HD is about the only choice you have without the intsanity of tons of DVDs........ have you tried any compression at all? Id try winRAR but Id be afraid it might take 3 days to compress!

seagate has a sweet new 100GB pocket-sized HD, well of course the term "pcoket size" is being used lightly.... but its still very cool.

    100GB / 60MB/s (USB2) = 27.78 minutes.
    100GB / 133MB/s (ATA133) = 12.53 minutes.

well the price is quite low on all HD's so either give up space on that, or get another one...
    the 120GB's are pretty cheap.

Yeah I have to agree ..... storage is getting so cheap its not funny. I saw a local add two weeks ago for a 250gb drive (internal) for some stupid number like $129 (might have been even less) ...... and it wasnt a no namer either... kind of scarey when you think about it!

I remember that too. I think my very first hard drive had 20 megabytes. Of course in the old days (Apple II's, Commodores, etc.), there was no such thing as a hard drive.
