I want to create a website, but I don't know what kind I could make. I am fairly skilled in PHP and MySQL. I have my own script website. Any ideas?

First you have to determine what kind of subject you want. Something you're interested in or something that's popular.

To find something that is popular use on of analogx's programs. www.analogx.com

A friend of mine and I were talking about this awhile ago: do you develop a site concerning things you know about, or things you are passionate about? Well, preferably, both, but the latter is more important.

You can run a baseball website without being an expert on managerial strategy -- you can get by as long as you love baseball. However, passion should, and usually does, lead to knowledge on the subject, which is why N'Sync fans know the birthdays and favorite foods of every member of the band -- they don't just like them, they know all about them.

Well, one subject I'm intrested in is gaming, but there are so many great gaming sites out. It also requires a lot of work, making all the cheat code pages. I could just do a game-specific site though.

    hi

gaming is a great and very broad topic. several years ago my hero was Scarne. so this brings to mind,"does anyone do a bibliogaphy (a good one), on the topic".

Black did a good book on blackjack and although Scarne is the patron saint of odds, there are many other more current authors.

How about a comparison of Indian gaming, riverboats, Nevada, overseas. Vast resource

Content is always a site killer. One thing that may not have been tried is to provide a log in for casinos and let them enter their own content. Hot slots, etc. big payoff. etc

lots of luck whatever you choose.
