Yeah, my friend did it, however i would never do it!!! Make sure you find the right one, because half of them are scams. Also, dont expect to get an ipod overnight. You have to sign up for all this crap, you have to do certain things every month, you get all this crap mailed to your house, you have to refer some friends, you get all these telemarketers. You have to do certain things every month, you have to cancel things, it takes like 6 mos. My friend did it, but he said he would never do it again. Nothing is free, and if something is, tell me!

They're legit. Best thing to remember is don't spam Spamming forums won't get you anywhere, except it'll make a lot of people annoyed. Just tell your friends, tell people you know, etc. and you'll get it soon enough.

Most of the sites that give free stuff say. The orignial one (freeipods) doesn't on the main page, I've never gone beyond that.

    Are they legit? Yes.

    Is your info sold? Probably.

Has anyone ever received one? Yes, Kevin Rose from the Screen Savers.

You don't think they're just going to hand out ipods... Do you? They make quite a bit of money off you and your friends... Each offer gets them $50+...
It's a good deal... Use a fake email, and take the few extra snail mails in stride while your listing to britney spears or whoever the h*** you listen to on your ipod.

Well a fake email doesnt do it. You have to sign up for something that usually requires a credit card.

Yes, people have received free ipods. However, as with any scheme such as this it's easy to figure out that there is only a very low chance that you will get more out of it than you put into it.

I had my credit card information stolen for this very purpose. They used my info and credit card to use me as one of their referrals and then signed me up for some of the required areas. I don't think they got it all the way because I cancelled the card pretty quickly (since they used my e-mail and everything for the sign-ups, thus I noticed the activations). Just goes to show you how far people will go to try and get their free iPod. Shame shame.

For those who did have it work, I think that when it started was the time to do it. Now, because it's so popular, they are monopolizing on those successes, making it harder to complete and get the free stuff (plus all the fake ones out there). Like many have said, it's not a quick freebie ... nothing is free.

    They're pretty dumb liquid.
They should've just went out and bought the iPod with your CC instead of trying that.
At least they would've got the iPod before the card was canceled.

That's what I thought! Obviously it was some young kid, not an experienced theif. I wouldn't have noticed the charges until I got my statement, but since they used my e-mail address too, by the next morning I had 3 e-mails "confiming" my purchases so it was obvious someone got the info.

All of the charges were reversed so it wasn't too bad. The only problem one was ESPN the Magazine. I told them my info was stolen and it was never authorized ... thus, no payment was going to be sent. They kept threatening to submit the unpaid bills to a collection agency if I didn't pay because I didn't cancel the membership within the "trial period". They finally gave up after my final letter which had a bit of a rant on the fact that no confirmation was approved by me, it was started via stolen information and no payment would ever be made ... collection agency or not. Shortly after I received a postcard confirming my cancellation of the subscription.

I'd much rather just buy the iPod than be subjected to one of these "free" offers.

These offers, for the people who actually get the freebies, in most all cases the time and effort plus the pay for things you have to sign up for are going to cost you more then if you went out and bought the ipod yourself.

There is also a script circulating somewhere that you can use to set up your own site. I cannot remember where i saw it but it can use any products to give away for free and allow any different affilate things i think. It would be cool to try but then again i do think it is a overdone concept now

The time it takes to find get refferrals and sign up for all those offers probably equals the time it would take to work and earn the money for the ipod in the first place...
