Getting Site Title & Description Automatically

Is there anyway I can get PHP to retrieve the meta tags title & description automatically? I remember seeing a site before where you type in the URL and hit submit, it then shows what the meta tags are set to.

I'm looking at building a small links database for my bookmarks and would like to have this feature added so I don't have to type it in for each link.

you would have to use fopen, and fread. the manual gives the required info!
