    This is the coolest thing in the world

    Was just reading Sitepoint.com, middle clicked to scroll (do that most of the time). That's SO cool. Really sharp looking. Of course, I launch IE to see if it works in that too, and middle click scrolling doesn't even work. So it's not perfect, but still, that's awesome.

    Mods: Put this in CSS if you want, or in Sitepoint support... I thought it was pretty off topic.

    Just at quick glance, this is all there is:

    Code:
     img {
    	border: 0px none #fff;
    }
    html>img
    {
    	width: 0!important;
    	height: 28px!important;
    	padding-left: 28px!important;
    	background: url(/images/icons/autoscroll2.png);
    }
    That's interesting. Just need a way to block that from IE...

    The html>img does block it from IE. The IE scroll hasn't worked for about 6 months. I've raised the issue many times but have had no response about it. I find it very very annoying. Just a hint though, if you want to middle scroll, do it on the side bar. It works there.

    Oh. Do you know what messes up the scroll?

    I'm not sure, but i've seen it on many sites. It's definately due to the use of CSS as the problem has only cropped up in the last year or so, when annoying 'Pure CSS' sites started popping up.

    Yeah, it's been up for a couple weeks. I was going to post on it, but I figured it was already done.

    Anyone care to explain why html>img changes the scroll icon?

    As far as I know, it's becuase the scrolling thing is an image (in XUL that is), and so basically changing the images to that gets the job done. It probably changes other images too, but as long as that's at the top, and all images under it are overwritten to be normal, you're good to go. This is just a guess of course...

    Oh I get it. Nevermind. I was thinking it would change all images to be the scroll image. But unless your images are completely, transparent... That shouldn't happen.

    But wait... Shouldn't it make them all 0px wide and 28px high and crap?

    EDIT: Or does the child selector only change the properties of its children... i.e. not grandchildren. So it wouldn't affect anything in the body?

    Either it doesn't do grandchildren, or they've got another override on each image to counter it...
