All of them can be depending on the effort you put in and the quality of the site.

Affiliate sites in the financial sector are very lucrative. Credit cards, all types of loans, insurance, etc. We have affiliates making over 10K a month form a single program and most of them promote numerous programs so make a lot more than that.Linda Buquet :: Affiliate Management Consultant

The key ot porfitability isnt the subject of the site, the key is that
A. You must offer something to supply an unfullfilled demand in the market
B. You have to identify a niche in the market, a way of doing things, or a product to sell which sets you aside from your competition.
With these two facts in mind, regardless of the subject of your site, and given a generous slice of luck, you will make money.

1. Dating Site - If by dating you mean pron then yes
2. Casino and Gambling - Probably up there with pron.
3. Forums - Big Myth!!! Most just barely break even, its the front ends that make money. They are very hard to maintain. Not even in top 50.
4. PPC - ???
5. PTR - ???
6. Others - Amazon Aff sites. Though not for long."A nerd who gets contacts

Why do what everyone else is doing? The profitable sites will be:
1. Those that fill a specific niche with very little competition.
2. Sites that you plan careful, build right and promote well.
3. Sites that you are interested enough in to care about building them.
If you follow trends (i.e. AWS, adult, casino, dating) then any profitability will be short lived. If you set the trend and you set the bar high to begin with (i.e. no one can do it better than you), then you'll last a good while and have fun doing it.WishList.com - Universal Gift Registry
