    Troubleshooting DNS

Does anybody know of any tools for troubleshooting DNS? Such as to determine whether the DNS server(s) are working properly.

The problem appears to be that DNS lookups are failing. About half the time I can't access the domains (Firefox/IE give a '"domain.com" couldn't be found'. 'nslookup domain.com' gives '** server can't find domain.com: NXDOMAIN'). As of two days ago the (two) domains were working fine. They're registered at RegisterFly, which appears to have five redundant domain name servers. I'm unsure what the problem might be (the server hosting the domains is working fine, and serving other domains fine) - problem with RegisterFly's server(s)/records; rogue DNS server; ...?

Well the big thing would be to figure out if its a server problem or your ISP DNS. You can change your system DNS to just about any DNS server. This is the first thing I would do, this will tell you if its your ISP or the way DNS is configured on the server. If you want you can use mine to trouble shoot... PM me if you want my DNS servers.
