    Arrow I'm done

Right now, I have 999 posts total. This seems like a nice number. In order to keep it, I will stop posting in the PHP and Java forum for some time now. Maybe the odd reply inside General Chat. Anyone, actually recognize me?
But I think that this post will be a temporary "parting of the ways". Too much studying / work to do.

1111 looks like another nice milestone to achieve in the future.

It was and still is nice here. I did have the feeling I usually killed the topic inside General Chat, though.

    Regards,
    Christian

1 post. ONE POST! And it wasn't just a "Hi".

I think introduction forum is a nice friendly gesture, but posts shouldn't count there. It's ridiculous.

That's quite a few, I only have 148 . It's that high cause I like to look back upon where I've posted, and sometimes when I've been 'following' people around the forums. Strange that they're able to be so big as to allow someone to do that....

    I LOVE LAMP!
Whoops, I meant to say :P--It was a typo, the keys are right beside eachother on the keyboard.

    Anyways...
I think it's good to introduce them, and stuff, just as long as you actually read each thread, and don't just say "Welcome to Sitepoint" copy, next thread, paste, next, paste.. etcetera.

I just realized, I don't think I've ever welcomed anyone in the introductions forum. But then again I don't really see the need for new users. Don't we have enough already? Geeze.

I haven't either, I posted in a thread that was in general chat, later moved to intros.

With that avatar in your profile, I think it's probably good thing ...

I used to welcome people in Introductions forum. Then I stopped doing it when I realized that it makes my post count increasing. ;-)

Volume of posts != contribution to the community

Welcoming people is great. I'd do it more if I had the time to. I don't care about post count. It's fun to reach milestones, but that's it. Reputation (despite its early abuse ) is a better guage of how much helpful or reliable a member is.

I would love to introduce people to sitepoint forums, but yeah, the posts count... so I don't... maybe that should be reviewed.

    Hmm.
I know that the rules state that before doing most things on the forums, you need to have 25 posts. But isn't it obvious that the conclusion is :
To get 25 posts, SPAM SPAM SPAM, and MORE SPAM.
Spamming doesn't take much brains to do.
You should make the new joiners:

    - Write out a 3000 word Essay about why they want to join Sitepoint.
    - Bake a cake with Sitepoint written on it
    - Then, get a real tattoo of the sitepoint logo, all across their forhead, and back.

Then you'd know how interested they are.

    Just my opinion .
