    Question How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

    I am pondering this question while having a disagreement with a friend of mine. She says 120 something but that seems just a little iffy. I guess it's not a big deal but, just thought I would get an opinion or two. So get to licking!

    Some of the best minds in academia have already worked on this problem!

    * A group of engineering students from Purdue University recorded that their licking machine, modeled after a human tongue, took an average of 364 licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. They tried the same licking test on 20 volunteers and found that the average licks to the center were 252 licks.
    * A chemical engineering doctorate student from the University of Michigan recorded that his licking machine required an average of 411 licks per Tootsie Pop.
    * A group of students at Swathmore School used human lickers in a scientific experiment and determined it took an average of 144 licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop.

    There has been a question scientists have pondered for the last 34 years: "How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop?"
    [...]
    The results were as follows:

    * Licks to Center: 625
    * Licks from Center to True Center: 530
    * Total Licks required to Reach True Center and erode Pop Completely: 1155
    * It took approximately 17 minutes to go from Wrapper to Stick

    It was obviously the chicken. It all depends at which point you say the chicken was actually a chicken, as the chicken had to evolve from something. But when the pre-chicken was first classified as a chicken, it wasnt the egg that was classified, it was the chicken itself.

    the true answer is this, depending on the size of your tongue and quality of your saliva, on average it would take 258 licks.

    Thank you, im a harvard grad
