Hey we are not talking about UNIQUES we are talking about IMPRESSIONS There's a HUGE difference between the two... with ~2500 uniques I am getting ~97000 impressions

I get about 100k a day (a little less) and it is nothing to brag about for me. I don't even make enough to cover hosting!

I don't really track impressions like that, the number that really matters is revenue.

    MySQL connecting errors

funny, I happened to hit the MySQL connection limit after posting something like that I increased it and restarted MySQL.

its a dual Xeon 2.8 with 2Gb RAM and a large chunk of the popular sections are using static pages which are rebuilt using fopen to allow a high amount of readers while dealing very little stress on the box (for the traffic level at least).

Alexa is somewhat decent for a form of third party comparison. http://www.alexa.com/data/details/tr...amnotageek.com Although a site like mine tells people to remove spyware like Alexa......

A and C in my sig accounts for the bulk of my traffic, B and D are just rather small tests that are still free traffic.

Exactly. I barely get 500k impressions a month, but still make a nice amount of money.

Congrats everyone! I'm glad I found this site... I just started my own site (more or less to just to see if I could make it work) and definitely needed the inspiration.

In addition to not getting impressions/uniques confused do not get hits/impressions confused either.

Holy crap I thought I was getting lot of traffic. I'm getting over 200,000 per.... month. that's page views, not counting 404 and 403. It's been going up fast though but it seems to have hit a slow down point. Thing is, I see so many sites pop up, and after a few weeks they have me beaten. I have no clue how people do it.

100k page impressions a day is very respectable IMHO especially if talking about a purely content site. My kit car site www.madabout-kitcars.com currently gets around 7k page views a day. If I was to multiply that up to 100k a day (and assuming users goes up by the same rate) then I could live off that one site alone. So whilst 100k might not seem much to some, it would be a huge thing for me.

Same here! Considering that I'm now making about 100 bucks a month at about 8K age views or so per day, I'd be doing like over $10,000 per month if I pulled off 100K per day. That would be $120K per year...quite a nice sum of cash. Though a good portion of it would go towards hosting.

I have an entertainment site that I feel is aggressively growing to help match competitors such as aintitcool, countingdown, joblo, comingsoon. The site adds ~4-8 content pages a day. I am now happy with the structure and layout, and have been working to keep content flowing and people coming.

However, my site has been up for about 4 months and I am still only getting about 24,000 pages opened a month.

    I want 40,000 pages opened a DAY.

this is the site: Movie Trailers

Any suggestions on where to go and how to boost visits?

    Thanks
    Ryan

    * I also heard that sometimes the search engines will wait you out for about 8 months, once you have proved yourself as a quality site the traffic comes pouring. True?

It's not how many visitors you have that counts, it's what you do with them . I have a page that generates a steady 200 $ ECPM, and gets about 8000 page views each month. I never made the page to make money off of it , I was just interested in the subject and I just discovered a while ago that my traffic was worth gold to some advertisers.
