Advertising in Forums with good results?

I posted this originally in General Chat, but I think it makes more sense here.

I'm not sure where to post this at SPF, so I figured I'd throw it in the General Chat. My question is a blunt one: if you're advertising something like selling text advertisements or banner advertisements, where might you go? I know about the Advertise Your Services here, but SPF isn't a great place to advertise -- and that's one reason why I like it. However, I need to do advertise that I'm offering some advertisements on my web site, and I don't know where to go! Can anyone give some suggestions about forums that give you good results? (Anywhere BUT WebHostingTalk -- I refuse to use this web site.) Thanks in advance!

We have a 'sales and marketing' forum and a 'web marketing' forum on our business forums which you'd be welcome to participate in.

Top and left are more valuable than right and bottom. Also size of banner and text matters. For pr transfer it shouldn't matter, but who knows maybe in G! algo it indeed does.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I'm looking for HUGE forums with at least 25,000+ members that you can advertise your advertising packages in. Like WebHostingTalk, but not there.

Sorry, I mis-read... thought you were looking for forums to ask about how you could sell your service. Ignore my post, as we don't allow advertising beyond sig files. Have you tried big-boards.com?

Nice suggestion. That's probably a good place to start.

I don't believe they have billions of posts. Must be a joke.

Why a joke? There are certainly boards out there with that kind of number of posts... follow the links to them and see for yourself if you are unconvinced.

Spencer, what kind of ads are you selling? Maybe you should try one of the ad networks?

BURST! and AdSense accept forums. They're the few and far in between.

Grr... I guess I haven't made my post clear enough.

I'm looking for forums like WebHostingTalk where you can post OFFERS for others to buy advertising from you. Example, I post saying that I'm selling text links at $XX/month. Does anyone know any similar forums where you can post advertising OFFERS with good results?

You can advertise your ad space on http://www.adspaceforums.com

The site is new but is starting to pick up in terms of visitors. I am working on growing the member count.

    Good luck!
    James
