Possible to let outsiders view local development?

Well, in my case it would be Coldfusion MX, but you know how you can work locally and then through localhost: in most cases, you can view your work like if you were on the actual internet using applications, etc...?

Is it possible, to allow someone that is not within your network, to view the "development" versions of your changes?

If so, what steps do I need to do this?

    Thanks

Well, If you are running a firewall you will need to allow access to port 80 through that. I guess you are running some sort of web server already.

Also, if you are on dial up you will need to use something like dynip to give you a fixed address, try googling for it.

no dial up. I have DSL. I usually have CF running in the background, so obviously I can access it via http://127......... localhost or whatever.

What type of address though, would I have to setup to allow someone accessing it from the outside.

I think I already have port 80 being forwarded via my router.
