    Javascript/CSS based menu trouble

    Hi,

I went to this site and was amazed at their navigational menu: http://www.amaze.co.uk

I like it because everything is modular, the submenus stays within the shape of the rectangle without jutting out horizontally across the website. However, when I tried to tweak with the code some of the images just wouldn't show up. I saved the ENTIRE website but modifying the names of the images just didn't work. As a result I am comtemplating on doing this same menu in Flash. (loading the same positioned swf on top of another, on top of another)

Could anyone please help me on this? Thanks

ok, my friend said that it's called the "vertical switch" menu

Does anyone know of tutorial sites that specialize in this menu? It's a cross between CSS and Javascript. Thanks

had a look at the amaze menu, not the code just the operation
not being funny but it did not seem that special

It looks good because of the choise of size and colors, the functionality is quite standard and will soon run out of 'speed' because there are only two levels.
Also the problem with cascade menus is that if there are more than a few sub menu entries the lower ones go off page

my definition of DHTML is CSS + Javascript or Javascript + CSS

If you want to make your own I am willing to assist but anthing I make will not work if js is disabled, I only do it because of the js.

has anyone looked at this menu in FF 1.0 (windows) ..... something seems to be terribly wrong. The submenus are disapearing but the space they took up is there and white? And I just noticed if you collapse / open a menu several times the space is added to by the same amount each time ..... 5 clicks and the rest of the menu is off the bottom of the page....

maybe we should disect it, fix it and sell it back to them

It does not work with Firefox. For anyone interested, here is a version I wrote that does the same and does work with Gecko browsers:

It is completely configurable through CSS
