    Couple of answers:

Regarding Code: Read up a few posts of mine and you'll see a stripped down version of the Object and String classes. If you'd still like the full version, contact me via email and I'll see what I can do, but I'd advise rading the rest of this thread first.

Regarding Mono: Unlike a great deal of people here, I am not writing for myself, or a particular client. The product is to be sold to lay-consumers, most likely with a commercial host. I can't rely on a framework that the end-user may not even be able to install. In addition, I only know the vb.ne syntax, not C#, nor will I ever.

Regarding PHP: My server currently IS a debian stable PHP5 server, though I am taking some *time off* and may change that upon my return to active coding.

    Regarding Costs:

    Debian - free
PHP - free (most commercial hosts support)
MySQL - free (most commercial hosts support)

Windows 2000 Server - have 15 Production CALS
SQL Server - 10 Development CALS, 0 Production CALS
Exchange - 10 Development CALS, 0 Production CALS
VisualStudio 2002 Ent - cost to upgrade to 2003 is almost 1 grand.

I'd need legal production licenses to server the *demo* site.

You may want to take a look at PRADO.

Very interesting. Looks based on the .NET method of page contruction, all the way up to using IsPostBack and _VIEWSTATE. I downloaded it and will play with it a bit. I think it may be a bit overengineered though. I'm not sure yet. Thanks for the lead.

It is indeed interesting. It's partially inspired by .NET and it borrows several concepts from it, as you pointed out (_VIEWSTATE and the PostBack Event), although that does not mean it is a good thing.

I think it's the closest look at .NET you'll get from a PHP perspective.

    Good luck.
