I'm thinking of redesigning my own site, however all I can see in my mind are the usual color and navigation schemes. I think the type of site mine is, similar ones lack real creativity.

I'd really like some inspiration, so if you people could maybe link to your favorite layouts and designs/color schemes, I'd be most greateful. Innovative, or just very nice looking, I'm just looking for inspiration, I dont want to rip anybody off

    All responses much appreciated.

    Hi,

I find the best inspiration is getting out of the house for a couple of hours and not trying to think about the design. When I have designers block, I go shopping or something like that, there are loads of things in any highstreet that inspire me. But I think inspiration is a very personal thing, different things work for different people.

Here are some directories of cool sites:
    http://www.coolhomepages.com
    http://system.coolstop.com/2001/
    http://www.moluv.com/
    http://www.strangernextdoor.com/ (reopending May 7th)
    http://www.2inch.be/links/
    http://www.overturedesigns.com/inspired.asp
    http://www.linkdup.com

Also you may want to look at some of these sites. They post links to new designes every day. I check some of them daily:
    http://www.designiskinky.net
    http://www.k10k.net
    http://www.surfstation.lu
    http://www.threeoh.com
    http://www.h73.com

Well you have a good share of my bookmarks now, that should keep you going for the time being. I have some more links to individual sites but most of them are listing in some of the directories above.

    Hope that helps.

I get my inspiration of every day things like navigation on a walkingman makes a really cool design. Or pick up a snowboarding, rollerblading, or skate boarding magazine they usually have really nice design ideas in them. I try to stay away from coolhomepage.com etc... because it not really original and your page need something original for some people to come back or for just people to say "wow this is a really cool web site".

    That my 2 cents.

Thanks people That's a great help.

If anybody would like to kinda shift the topic into a ground for posting links to really innovative or well designed sites. I'm sure it would help lots of people, who are looking for such help.

hehe, Fletch took all the good links for himself ! I would definetly check into:

All of these links are portals -- meaning they're flowing with creative and inspirational links!
Yes... I know. I listed some links that Fletch had done already .

...and if you find you are stuck then take a break!

Also, however much you dislike your design save them all as you might reuse elements of them later when you look at them with a different perspective.

My favorite is CWD.dk, they have a huge directory of well done websites.
