    Editing MP3 info

    Hey all,

Is there a program out there that can edit mp3 info? Like Artist name, album name, etc? My iPod is so unorganized because of a bunch of mp3 with the name of, "TRACK 01" - and that's it.

    Thanks!

Winamp allows you to edit mp3 info? Hmm!

Mark, I'll check that out when I get home. Thanks!

Ya. Either via the menu, or by hitting Alt+3 in the song listing.

And aside from editing the ID3 tags, it's a great MP3 player too.

Though, IMO any version after 2.x is just bloatware.
Try out the latest version. If you don't like it go to http://www.oldversion.com and grab an older version.

I use iTunes for all my mp3 needs...the cddb-support will identify most tracks right away and even if not the edit function works like a charm, too (edit of single files, multiedit (e.g. track 1..x -> album name=foo))...

IMO Winamp beats the crap outta iTunes for everything except updating your iPod and buying music :P

Winamp is lighter, hides perfectly, and has a million and 1 skins.

Well, I used Winamp 2.x for ages, but I switched to iTunes some months ago and never looked back...IMO iTunes is superior, especially if you've got a huge collection on your hands (search function, intelligent playlist, etc)...but in most cases I guess it's just a matter of taste/preference...(small, light, skintastic vs. complete collection management)...nothing wrong with that...

The MusicBrainz Tagger from MusicBrainz is pretty cool. It does not always get the completely right information but it comes close and is automatic, gotta love that.

The problem with iTunes is that you have to be importing for it to tag the songs, if the songs are already on the computer it cannot look them up (for some dumb reason).
