Helping php coders start a life

I have been designing for years, but only been coding in php for about 8 months. I would like to put my php skillz to the test buy doing a live project for free.. I do not need a big project, just something small and quick to test my skillz. This will let me know if I need to study some more or just give it up.

I have been looking for some easy to do php projects for charity or free to build my confedence up. These projects are hard to find. Do anyone of a good forums site or anywhere I can find these types of projects.

Write a polling engine. It's not that hard: A form to input the polling question and the possible choices, a form to answer the polling question, a results display page, and a database to store the questions, answers, and results.
