    Question Website Statistics Help!

Hopefully this is in the correct forum.

Anyway, I'm having problems understanding my website statistcs. Here are the ones I don't understand:

    Total Hits
    Total Files
    Total Pages
    Total Visits
    Total Unique Sites
    Total Unique URLs

Are you able to explain which one does what?

    Cheers

    Ben

Hits are times something is requested. So if you page has a 3 images embedded it would count as 4 hits.

I suspect Total Files is about the same.

Total Pages is actual page views. This and uniques are the ones you really want to page attention to.

Total visits is the visits to the site. Say you go to Google and search for a few things, and then come back later, that would be two visits.

Total Unique Sites and Unique URLs I'm assuming is referrers. For sites Google might count as one, but there may be many Google URLs referring.

As I said about its Uniques and pages that are really important. This tells you how many people are visiting and how long they are sitcking around.

Correct me if I'm wrong on anything here. I know there are answers that are more technical.
