Needing "Glowing Text" style tutorials . . .

Hello,

I'm just finding out about "Glowing Text", and I'm wanting to know if anyone can direct me to someplace on the net that has some good tutorials on all the different aspects of this type of text styling.

I've got it down alittle, but I'm having problems with positioning. Here's the URL....

Are you referrign to creating a glow using stylesheets or just a normal graphic?

If it's the stylesheet, then that only works with IE 5.5.

If it is the image then that is a cinch.

1) Create an object on a new layer (can be type or an object) color it blue (or whatever you want).

2) Duplicate that layer.

3) Color the new object on the new layer white.

4) Move the white object behind the blue object.

5) Blur the white object and presto.

That is the down and dirty way to get a glow. There are some other things you can do to get the glow working better, but you have the basics now.

Glowing text works in IE5 as well, I'll give you an example:

Glowing Text

So basically, you chuck some style into a table and create a filter called glow, and add some properties to it. The <font> tag is responsible for what color the actual font will be..

OK, now I see what you are wanting to get. The Glow effect on plain text in a browser. Keep in mind that is an IE only filter and as such will not work in Netscape. It won't break anything, it just won't be visible.

I think that a Glow done using the CSS filters looks crappy. I would wholeheartedly recommend that you DON'T use them.

I also think it looks bad, I wouldnt bother if I were you. It's more of a newbie thing:
