SLeon that was a pretty good summary

You forgot to mention that the whites managed to rape and murder a lot of the blacks in order to take their land; and that rather conveniently, a lot of the blacks died from disease introduced by the whites (to which they were not immune). And if after all that there were still blacks occupying land that the whites wanted, they moved the blacks further out onto more desolate lands.

Was that to visit Dickybird - one bird to another?

BTW, what happened to your woodstock like bird (what did you call it again)? I am very disappointed that you have lost the bird.

Hahahaha - never been very good with birds

It's a Chocobo a mythical ostrich-like magical bird (from squaresoft final fantasy mythology), it's one of squaresoft's mascots, you find them in the Final Fantasy series of adventure RPG's. It will make a comeback in a future avatar

Back to the start of the thread.
I had a similar experience two years ago. I'm from Texas and was with a group that visited Germany (the eastern side - Leipzig) and England (York) for a week each.
Being American, we have an accent that the rest of the world can distinguish, being Texan, it's a little more unique.
Almost every day I was asked where I was from and then the follow up would be "Do you know .....?" Either someone they met or a famous person (I was asked about Clint Eastwood and John Wayne).
Also, Texas (as a state) is bigger than many European countries, and the topography and climate varies from swamp, to hill country, to desert, to piney woods. Yet most of them thought it was desert and cactus, we rode horses everywhere, and we all carried guns and fought indians all the time. Heck I live in Houston - 4th largest city in the US, we have NASA, the Astrodome, probably the best Medical Center in the world, and more.

This all goes to show you, stupidity is not an American trait. It's a UNIVERSAL trait.
Misconceptions abound in every country about every other country. I consider myself well educated and very open minded, yet I was surprised by my visits to Germany, England, and other countries and places I have journeyed to or through. Cultures are different and we need to embrace the diversity. Even in the US there is a gulf between the cultures in certain states: Florida, Alaska, Southern California, and Ohio each have different ways of looking at life and reacting to change.

Well, my 2.5 cents (.5 added for fuel rate surcharge) on the original topic.

    sshhhhhhh - Steelsun!
You're betraying your country by being so damn worldly. You not only named two countries within Europe, but also areas within them - watch it, Bush'll have you executed as a commie spy

ps: I met a guy from Texas last week, called Joel - you know him?

Joel? Yeah, I know Joel! Used to play football (American, not that chase the checkered volleyball they play elsewhere) up in that yankee state Oh-Hi-Oh.

I think my friends Bubba, Billy Ray, Jim Bob, & Al Junior know him too. I know my Father-in-law Butch met him last year.

BTW: In reference to one of my last posts, it's true that not everyone in Texas carries a gun. But it's best to be polite, because you never know who may be carrying one.

After all, an armed society is a polite society.

I too am from Texas. I grew up in Spring Branch Houston and have lived in Dallas for the past 12 years. Good to see we have some locals on around here. These 'outlanders' are giving us hell

That is natural selection at work my friend. Any society that has a technological advantage over another will always dominate, absorb or destroy societies that don’t. This is a good thing as it keeps the race as a whole strong.

Sprechen Sie tatsächlich Deutsch oder Sie einen Übersetzer wie mich selbst benutzen? Ich versuche noch zu lernen, es effektiv ohne einen Übersetzer zu sprechen.

HELLBENT: Let's distinguish natural selection of genes from natural selection of memes, shall we? http://www.memes.org.uk

I think that translates into "Because a couple of people german speak, I speak now german. I find that Germany is very progressive in comparison to the United States. I am do not like American, find' however, that I American almost quite"

I myself am not very fluent in German, Still learning and I rely heavily upon translators. However back to the topic at hand. Meme's is just a theory and it is highly controversial at that. I personally think it is rubbish.
