    needing help to setup a phpbb forum

    hi, recently i've tried to setup a phpbb forum using IIS v5.1 on a xp machine. i've installed mysql and php v5 but when i tried to install the forum i get the following msg "The PHP configuration on your server doesn't support the database type that you chose".
    i've searched all over the internet but still could not resolve this problem so plz help me.

    p.s. i've also created a db under the mysql extensions.

    I don't use it - but are you sure phpBB is PHP 5 compatible? Their web site doesn't seem to indicate it is.

    hi i did wot u said about d/l an older version of php which is now v4.3.1 but when i tried to setup the phpbb v2.0.11 forum it comes up with the following msg:

    phpBB : Critical Error

    Could not connect to the database


    plz tell me wot to do

    p.s i have setup a username and password for the account and have inputed all the info that the forum needs

    Which version of MySQL do you have installed? The error is because the username and password you are using to connect to the database with are incorrect.
