    Ok, does netscape 6 support CSS or not? I have read that CSS is cross platform since netscape 4, yet I can't get my style sheets to work in netscape!

    http://www.sparq-l.com/computers.shtml

    if you have IE and Netscape, look at the above link and you'll see what I mean.

    Is there any way I can get my style sheets to work in Netscape?

    well, I cant get the classes I have defined for table cells to work right.

    Or the classes I have defined for <p> to work properly, like they do in IE at least.

    Any ideas?

    ok, when I use this tag

    <p class="date">

    ("date" being a style I have set up on a linked in style sheet) netscape does not adjust the following text to meet the style, IE does just fine.

    Also, I use tags like

    <td class="topic">

    To apply things like background color to individual cells, which works just fine in IE. But when I view it in Netscape, The styles are ignored.

    This is a quick rundown of how my page is set up. If you want to see exactly what i mean go to http://www.sparq-l.com/computers.shtml

    Thanks

    Ok I'm not sure if I'm right, but I think the answer lies in your sheet1.css

    I will check this and report back to you.

    STOP PRESS!

    I noticed that you don't have a '#' in your colours.

    color: 99CCFF; should be color: #99CCFF;

    Oops, it is often easy to overlook a simple mistake like this. Sorry! Your page looks fine in netscape with it fixed.

    You might like to specify a border style for your tables because netscape puts a 90's style 3d border around your tables by default.

    You've specified background colors in your stylesheet, but you've also specified background colors (different than the stylesheet) in your TR tags. Remove the background colors in your TR tags, and lowercase all of your classes in your stylesheet. And as mmj stated, don't forget pound signs in your colors.

    Ok everyone.

    Thanks for the help, This is how I did it...

    1. Added the "#"
    2. Deleted the <tr bgcolor=...>
    3. Now there was no colors in the cells at all
    4. Looked at my stylesheet...
    5. It clicked, my style sheet had commands like
    TD.TOPIC
    my html called for class="topic"
    i realized that the problem was case sensative! D'oh

    Apparantly Netscape is case sensative when it comes to CSS, whereas IE is not.

    Anyhow, I really appreciate everyone's help. It is great to have a community of helpful people. You have no Idea how many sites I have visited trying to figure this out...

    Try to make all classes, tags and attributes lower case in future. That way you'll be heading towards xhtml compliance

    oops yes I forgot to mention that you need to make them lowercase. I did that for the one I tested but I forgot to tell you I did that.

    for what it's worth, when I viewed your page in NS, I get an "error, page not found: animate.js"

    Oh, and one more thing. Personal prefernce of course, but I really hate when people use CSS to change the cursor, especially to the crossbar cursor that you are using. It makes people think that something is happening that is not. People expect a link to give them the hand cursor. When you take that away, then they think it's no longer a link.

    I really dislike that part of CSS and am glad that it's only a an Internet Explorer thing. Hopefully they will take that one out of the next browser.

    I don't know why you are getting that message, It seems to work fine in my browsers (netscape and IE) I also tested it on a PC at school (Netscape) didn't get it there either.

    About the cursor, I see what you mean, I just never thought of it that way... I think I will change it back to normal today.

    Thanks!
