Cloning other site concepts and features

This question has been asked before but I will post it again... How do you clone a website concept? What do you look for? If you notice a particular feature, how do you write a code for that feature if you do not know the back in programming code?

Give me your advice on how you go about taking a feature or concept from ano another site and developing a php code from it?

How you actually achieve that depends a lot on how you program and where you are starting from.

1./ Ask nicely, they might help you out!
2./ Think about it logically, think about what it does and how you could achieve the same result.
3./ post a thread here so we can see what you mean and help you out (as long as you put some effort in!)
4./ Sit there for days wondering if you could do it! (done that!)
