    Intricate PHP Sites

I'm currently developing the specs for a website and I've seen a few sites that use PHP.

I'm interested in seeing some examples of sites you've created that showcase the strength of PHP. My site will feature various databases where users will submit their information articles/links/profiles and have a variety of other functions in the future.

What I'd like to see from some of you are some sites that you've created that showcase PHP and offer a great deal of interactive functionality for the customer.

If this isn't in the proper place I do apologize.

If a thread has been done like this in the past could someone provide the link for me rather than simply saying go do a search.

Yahoo for one example. If you need more, visit www.zend.com and look over their customer portfolio

About 60 percent (from what I hear) of all website today are PHP driven, so take a pick

    Hmm perhaps you can.

May I send you a private message to talk about some applications I have in mind?

It seems like you have some misunderstandment, since your question in the first place is a bit absurd. I can't verify Livingstone's number, but as an aproximate it's probably close to the truth. So the deal is that PHP is present in more than half of the websites on the entire internet. Apart from that, PHP is never used as a stand-alone technology - It's always used in combination with other technologies such as HTML. The major strentgh in PHP vs. it's competitors (most notably ASP and JSP) is in it's versability. As such it is hard to demonstrate the strength of PHP, since it isn't immediately visible in the final product.

Hope that shed a little it of light on the concepts for you.

My firm primarily develops using PHP/MySQL. Feel free to peruse our portfolio : http://www.ft11.com/portfolio.php

Another site that is kind of a work in progress is http://www.extreme-helmet.com. This site in particular has php driving pretty much every aspect of the site from navigation to page layout and whatnot.

Mostly closed apps here too, and also web services - which I think says a lot for the versatility of the language. I could point you in the direction of one of our portal sites, but I couldn't lay claim to much of the code there myself.

like everyone's mentioned, almost every site uses php in some way. but if it's concrete examples you're after, all my sites are php/mysql driven.

    http://sample.inversiondesigns.com/index.php (very very php/mysql)
    login: u: demo p: demo
    free online calendar: http://inversiondesigns.com
    includes multiple calendars/users/groups, task manager,
email and sms reminders, permissions (sharing), etc.
