As I was in lunch today, me and some of my friends started discussing cultural stereotypes (oh yeah, we're the cool table! .)
Mot of the America stereotypes were funny, for the most part untrue, but there was one that I realized actually had some truth to it- a lot of Americans are fat!
So in the halls, I came to the conclusion that about 25% or so of the people that I saw walking by were fat. I don't mean a little bit heavy, but obviously, undeniably fat! It is pretty sad that there are so many fat kids.
So my question is, is obesity much of a problem in your country/area as well, or is it really just us yanks?

Some survey shows that now every 1 out of 3 Americans are technically obese. I don't have the link/location of this survey, but I remember it was from a reputable source.

I'm not sure what defines 'obese' though.

I have heard tell that there are some fat people here in England, but I haven't met one yet. We spend all our money on petrol so we don't have any left over for luxuries like food.

Yes, obesity is becoming a bit of a problem in the UK, but from what I've heard, not as bad as in the states.
Any canadians out there- same for you as well?
