I make enough with RAC (rentacoder.com) to keep me busy, so I didn't check the others, but I have a collection of about 60 links to freelance websites.

They are attached (.url files from IE's Favorites).

    I suggest the following sites. If you are a coder, i suggest using scriptlance.com , rentacoder.com .

If you are a designer use the following, i suggest the following
    creativemoonlighter.com and
    selectadesigner.com

elance.com is sorta expensive but, its worth it

    Hope this helps

These reverse auction sites are excellent for those who are novices or have a limited portfolio and want to build their network, but for those with both taken care of, it is more rewarding (monetarily) to seek client on your own time and charge higher rates. The competitiveness makes each job less rewarding at sites like eLance, but it's still good if you're in a pinch.

*I haven't checked recently, maybe I need to bite my tongue after looking.

Nope, haven't used them, and never will. I'll leave the opportunities to those willing to work for $5.00 an hour.

p.s. most work is word of mouth but on freelancers.net there is a banner link to a company that finds you work if you do website design full time as a job.
