There are some very good e-books out there, but they can be costly.

This blog I read, Search Engine Roundtable just posted a free e-book from Conversion Chronicles. I'm reading it right now and it is very good.

I grabbed a copy of this e-book, thanks for the tip. Seems to be a good resource with quite valuable info.

Save your money. They are not worth the e-paper they are printed on. Just kick the tires around on Sitepoint, Webmasterworld, and geekvillage, and you will learn plenty.

I disagree, there are plenty of good info products around. You can spend months or years learning the slow way or fast-track your knowledge by reading books or listening to audio discussions by more experiencd professionals.

    Just my opinion.

Although articles and books give good guidelines, marketing is more about the followup...and 'Action is the magic word'...lots of action...
i maybe digressing from the original post...but i believe there are two aspects to marketing
    1. conceptualisation
    2. implementation
#1 is a mental exercise (a creative exercise)
#2 is a completely physical excercise (ACTION)
you may get some ideas to implement by reading books...but my experience tells me that the aptitude for marketing comes from being in touch with the trends...knowing the pulse of the market...and knowing my business...knowing my competitors and their businesses...
    so it was banner ads...
    and text ads...
    and email ads...
    and cobranding...and so on...
like someone put it...forums are THE best way to follow the trends...and follow your competitors too...
books only help to that extent...

There are about 10,000 excellent ebooks out there well worth reading. The problem is finding those amongst the 10,000,000,000 garbage ebooks that look and are described the same way prior to your actually being able to open them. Of course most of the good ones just contain common sense info. Some that get the best reviews from internet marketers are the ones telling you how to steal from others in order to get the income that they worked for - so you need to steer well clear of those.

Hope this helps. I just requested for this ebook just now and still waiting for the instructions of downloading in the email to arrive.

Download Money for Nothing (and you clicks for free) from the master Seth Godin if you haven't yet. It's a short manifesto, but it drives home some very important lessons.
