    A good CMS for phpBB?

    Hey,
I'm using the ashHawaiian theme for phpBB theme with MkPortal on my upcoming surfing site here. However, I can't find a good MkPortal style that even comes close to ashHawaiian. Can anyone suggest a portal system that gives me the following functions and that I can find a reddish theme for:

    Downloads
    Reviews
    Polls
    Announcements
    Chat
    Photo Gallery w/ seperate section

I would have used MOS (Mambo Open Source), but none of the modules are displaying (see this thread). So now I'm looking for something that integrates with phpBB pretty well.

    Thanks!

    I recommend SubDreamer http://www.subdreamer.com

It has most if not all of the functionality you need and integrates nicely with phpBB, vBulletin etc.

Subdreamer looks nice; I'll check that out. Thanks... by the way, do you have a skin you'd recommend for a surfing site?

Yep, phpbbhacks is pretty good, but the portals they listed there aren't so awesome. Thanks though.

I've looked at two of those before and currently use Smartor's ezPortal on the upcoming SurfTurf. Postnuke is not really the ideal surfing portal, but phpBBfetchall looks nice and I'll go check it out in detail.

    Thanks for the suggestions, everyone

CPG-Nuke comes with all that you have mentioned with the exception on the chat module, though one is available for it, I havn't used the chat module myself.
It uses coppermine as a built in photo gallery which in itself is a great script and the fact that CPG-Nuke (Coppermine Photo Gallery-Nuke) is built around this, it is very well intergrated, same goes for PHPBB.

And although it is a fork of PHP-Nuke with it's many security and other issues, CPG has been very well rebuilt from the ground up without the flaws of Puke, so not all of the countless themes and modules of Puke will work properly with CPG without some modification, mostly security and performance based.

You will also find a very friendly and helpful community of supporters at CPG-Nuke.
