I have used AVG for the past 3 yearThe newest version seems to be fine now but they had some "bugs" that needed to be worked out.
If you don't want to fork over cash for a AV prog - AVG is pretty good.

I ended up buying EZ Antivirus by Computer Associates. only 29 bucks and seems to be good................
I installed avg on a clients computer because his norton expired. A month later he called me because so many popups were slowing down his computer. He had 22 different viruses. So I guess I cant recomend avg

Example being...visited my wifes family for christmas, where my wifes uncle proceeded to tell me that Dell's Suck, after I said something about ordering one. I asked why they suck and he said cause the one he bought is slow and he gets pop ups and stuff like that. With no clue even that his file sharing crap he has on there does all the pop ups and shows your system down. He has no idea about virus software or firewalls...he just knows that Dell's suck cause he's got pop ups. I just nod and go along with it, cause he'll just argue anyway. lol

Well, Dell does kinda suck sometimes. They once distributed software with a virus right in it...well that is what I heard of someone. But from my own experience, I got a Dell server about a year back. Paid a lot of money for it, and guess what. On a brand new installation. Before I hooked it up online, the $admin share kept dissapearing. I could not figure out the problem and reinstalled twice. then I ran the virus scan and guess what. 6 virusses! The only thing I ever used on that server were the Windows server CD and 2 Dell disks for installation!
I am not sure if I am crazy, but I still DO purchase my pc's from Dell![]()

This has nothing to do with what kind of av app you use...Originally Posted by ccs111

I'm glad I am happy to...for a second I thought the AntiVirus gods were going to keep me from getting one and my computer was going to crash and it was going to be a mess!!!(probably not, but it sounded good right? right?)
I know what you mean I never get viruses. My nephew came over and was on my computer for an hour it took me two days to get the spyware and viruses removed. Needless to say he is no longer left alone with my computer. LOL
