Favourite drink (alcoholic)

I've heard (from somebody who runs a nightclub) that Long Island Ice Teas are the mark of novice drinkers. Greatest bang for buck maybe?

Could be... I used to drink them all the time when I was 21-22. Makes a decent drink when you are around amateur bartenders as well though I find they can never mess up a rum an coke.

Since I am the only one that made a comment about the percentage of Alcohol content in beers, I can only guess that this is directed at myself.

Sorry for the mis-understanding, but the comment wasn't directed at anyone. Yeah, I agree with your point, I'm in for quality rather than quantity anyday and the two aspects are linked because of the process that makes a brew. But there does seem to be a little trend around with many people going for whatever they see as a strong drink (& preferably cheap) - there's a little pub in town that does a great tasting bitter (and very cheaply), but people only seem to get excited about it because its also quite strong (but i guess, like you say, that goes with the quality also)

Yeah, I was introduced to it about a year ago and now try to pick up a bottle whenever I see one (they are not available everywhere and hard to find sometimes). I usually have mine on ice just because it's much better cold. If it's properly stored in the freezer before drinking, then no ice required. Either way, it's good shtuff.

Yeah, you can't buy it here in the UK. Well I've never found any and it's not for the want of trying. Thus far, the only place we've ever seen it is Germany. You can get apple schnapps in the booze markets over in Calais, but it's not as good as Apfelkorn.

My parent's have a few of those Hurricane glasses from there. We went to New Orleans in 1981 when I was a kid. Haven't been there as an adult though.

I use the same yeast that Cooper's does when making my own brews. Does a pretty good job and is an easy yeast to start.
