Looking for initial impressions on my new layout

    http://www.course-notes.org/globalfusion/

I haven't fully loaded all the content into the site yet, but what do you think about the actual layout/color scheme/etc?

    Thanks,

    -Chris

Yes, Gazal is right. Please also read the sticky FAQs before you post there.

Generally the design is pretty good, readable and easy to find the information.
The banner at the top is not so impressive though. Its been stretched out of proportion, their is compression artefacting and the text is blurry and hard to read.
Even if those issues were addressed I think that particular photo would be too photograph (as in too much detail) for your layout.
Instead of 3 or 4 national monuments, perhaps just one (if its relevant) and a bit more negative space would be the go.

Also you should use the <label> tag in your login form around the 'remember me' text for improved accessability, and so that the whole 'remember me' text is clickable.
    Code:
    <input type="checkbox" id="remember"/> <label for="remember">Remember me</label>
The for attribute of the label tag just has to match the id attribute of the checkbox.

I agree, my first impression was the top banner is stretched. Make sure you hold shift when transforming images. If you want me to create a header/montage/image I can help you out.

The top banner does look stretched, and I must say quite rude. You may want to consider changing your slogan

Nice and clean - Have you considered using a 728x90 ad banner instead of a 468x60 - and placing it in its own section just below your header?
