    WARNING! Dodgy DVD website!!

Don't touch discountmovie.net with a barge pole! They're thieves. Or rather (more likely) HE'S a thief. I wish I'd checked the WHOIS record before attempting to do business with them - lesson learned. The "business" appears to operate from an apartment in Malaysia and the only means of contact is a yahoo.com email address.

    My last contact with him/them:

Having made every effort to contact you (via this site and via WHOIS records) to find out where my product is and having received no response, I can only assume you have no intention of delivering it and as such I have instructed the fraud protection division of my credit card company to take action to recoup the moneys taken from my account on my behalf.
And as for ESeaScale who took the payment, they are attempting to have nothing to do with it! They too are clearly scum, as they obviously don't make any checks on the individuals they take payments for and the home page of their website includes such delightful products as "Debt Elimination" (I wonder what that entails), "Tobacco Products" and "Exotic Leather"... hmmm. If you see that name on an online booking form, click away quick!!

    I'm soooo pi$$ed off!!!

Call your credit card company and issue a complaint. I usually only buy from companies like Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com for things like this. If it is an unknown company and they have something I want, I will email them a question first to see how they answer it before deciding what to do.

What you been buying? Hot Soapy Lesbians Go Fishing Part 4? Was the saving that good to warrant NOT using play.com?

Complain to your bank/credit card so they get a charge back. It'll cost them an extra 20 or so bucks!!!

LOL! Caught again... what were the chances!!

Believe it or not, Disney's Jungle Book on DVD for my girlfriend's nephew. It seems Jungle Book on DVD is like gold dust. Can't find it anywhere! Even got stung by a dodgy copy on Amazon Marketplace, but Amazon were great and gave us our money back straight away.

Ahem . . . I found a site [signature] that has it in stock.

You could get it in a box set with other movies as an option.

Hi - thanks for the heads up, but you don't have the Disney original I'm after... it's the 1967 version:

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...v=glance&s=dvd

I tried buying it here and got a fake that didn't work. Amazon gave me my money back when I told them I'd been stung, but it was a waste of time and energy so I won't use it again for this item...

Yeh - I've discovered since looking that "New" = "Fake"! Disney did a VERY limited release!!

This is a find though... tempted to bid!

Heh, my dad actually has a very similar copy at home. If it was on there for more than 2.50 I'd go and sell it

Hey they say it themselves... I mean, this is the great, so it must be the great. I often think eBay auctions should have a "report" button much like vB forums do. The number of times I get pissed off with people posting ads "THIS IS MY AUCTION NOT SOMETHING SIMILAR NOT SOMETHING SIMILAR" blah blah. Very irritating.

Discountmovie.net is definitely a ripoff. Avoid at all costs. Same scenario as you described. Four e-mails to them with no response, eseascale.com generates a canned message saying to take it up with Discountmovies. I have disputed the charge on my credit card and am trying to get the word out to as many sites as possible. Next time I'm sticking with companies I know. If you like, you can also post a rating at Resellers.com. There was one there from someone else who was ripped off. I am contacting Amazon and E-pinions as I have noticed that they are allowing them to advertise on their sites. It's a shame that a little girl had to be disappointed as Christmas so some scum sucker could profit. Bad karma.

Hi - thanks. The people to go after are Google - it's AdWords that Amazon and E-pinions are pulling in to power "Sponsored Links". See http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/su...496114-6256752

It seems Google links to this site only exist in their own search-engine cache these days - all the link seem to have gone. Either Google realised and pulled the listings or the guy stopped paying - probably owes Google a few hundred bucks too!

Where it says "VCD Movies" should have given it away that they are copies. No company who sells movies makes VCDs.

Sorry dude, but that's just rubbish. VCD is a far more popular format that DVD throughout most of South East Asia...legitimately.

Since I know nothing of South East Asia I'll take your word for it. I stand corrected.
